Happenings 06.13.25

Welcome to Happening’s a biweekly roundup of five things that have caught my attention lately. The name is simple, but that’s the idea: just a collection of what’s happening in the world, on the internet, or in my own little corner of life. From news stories and trends to books, movies, and random curiosities, this is where I share what’s been on my radar. Think of it as an old-school blog scroll personal, a little eclectic, and always changing. Let’s dive in!

ONE // Ed the Zebra

In late May, Ed the zebra decided he was over the farm life and made a break for it galloping straight into internet fame and the hearts of Tennesseans everywhere. I first spotted the videos on Instagram Reels and couldn’t stop watching this majestic escape artist trotting through yards and down highways like he owned them. For days, he lived his best zebra life, dodging capture and stealing the spotlight. Ed has since been safely returned home, but his brief stint as a internet legend won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

TWO // Hamilton Cast Reunion

One of the biggest highlights of this year’s Tony Awards was the 10-year Hamilton reunion—and as one of my all-time favorite plays, it was such a thrill to watch. Seeing the original cast back on stage brought back all the magic, energy, and emotion that made the show so unforgettable. It’s hard to believe it’s been a decade since it first debuted, but the impact and brilliance still shine just as brightly.

THREE // New iPhone

It’s been four years with my current iPhone, and let’s just say it’s starting to show its age (and yes, I’m pretty sure that’s by design). With Apple’s WWDC unveiling some exciting iOS updates and hints about the upcoming iPhone, I’m officially in countdown mode for the fall release. I’m especially looking forward to finally having one charging cable for my iPhone, Mac, and iPad—simple pleasures! An upgrade feels overdue, and this year’s launch might be the perfect excuse.

FOUR // Rascal Flatts: Refueled Duets

Rascal Flatts dropped ReFueled: Duets on June 6, featuring fresh takes on their biggest hits with today’s top artists. As someone who grew up listening to their music, it was such a thrill to hear these refreshed versions. Each duet adds a new layer of energy and emotion while honoring the originals. It’s a nostalgic trip with a modern twist, and a must-listen for longtime fans like me.

FIVE // China Trade War

A major breakthrough has been reached in the long-running trade war between the U.S. and China. Both countries have agreed to roll back some tariffs and boost cooperation on key issues like technology, agriculture, and intellectual property. While the deal stops short of ending all tensions, it signals a shift toward de-escalation and renewed dialogue. As a financial advisor, this has been a serious daily matter for me—navigating client concerns, market volatility, and policy uncertainty. The ripple effects of this deal could be felt globally, from Wall Street to your local store shelves.
